  16. regarding the distribution of the Shareware version of ToolPAL:

  19.     donations, for any such copies, however made; and from distributing
  20.     the software and/or documentation with other products (commercial

  22.     otherwise) without prior written permission, with one exception:

  51. Windows magazine says, ToolPAL has "More  Tools Than The Local Hardware 
  52. Store." ToolPAL 3.0 is a Windows utility for  constructing Windows 
  53. toolbars. Buttons can do 20+ different actions, including helping your 
  54. Browser navigate the Internet.  PC Mag states: "ToolPAL is the most 
  55. complete tool-palette builder available for Windows."  You can use it 
  56. to create multitabbed, multibutton floating palettes that launch 
  57. applications or documents, send commands to your programs, monitor 
  58. system resources, and generally simplify a host of tasks.

  60. ToolPAL features include:

  62. Windows 95 support:  ToolPAL includes long filename support and tight
  63. integration with the Windows 95 shell.  Drag and drop to or from the
  64. Explorer,  without leaving the Explorer.
  65.  
  66. Internet support: ToolPAL features built-in support for Microsoft 
  67. Interet Explorer link (.URL) files. Using drag and drop from the 
  68. Windows Explorer you can easily configure a ToolPAL button to link to 
  69. one or more Internet pages when it is used with Internet Explorer.

  71. Execute any command in any Windows application.
  72. You can also have any ToolPAL palette window behave as an applicationÆs 
  73. toolbar.  When the application is iconized, the toolbar automatically 
  74. disappears.  When you exit the application, the toolbar is 
  75. automatically closed.

  77. Store and retrieve Clipboard objects. ToolPALÆs Clip & Save database 
  78. lets you easily store any type of standard Windows Clipboard object and 
  79. associate it with a button. You can also store multiple objects and 
  80. associate them with one button.  When you click on the button, a menu 
  81. appears so you can select the object you want to paste into the Windows 
  82. application you are working with.

  84. Store and retrieve text templates. Using ToolPAL text templates, you 
  85. can embed variable names in a text object before you save it.  When you 
  86. click on a button to paste the text into an application, ToolPAL 
  87. prompts you for the replacement text for each variable.  After you type 
  88. in the text and choose OK, ToolPAL pastes the text into the application 
  89. you are working with.  For repetitive work, ToolPAL remembers the text 
  90. typed in for each variable.  All you need to do is select the text from 
  91. a drop-down list.  Text templates are useful for form letters, 
  92. worksheet templates, and programming templates.

  94. Record and play back keyboard macros. Using ToolPAL, you can easily 
  95. record and play back keyboard macros that are focused on a single 
  96. application.

  100. Be a Windows Resource Monitor with resource alarms that provide Windows 
  101. crash protection. A ToolPAL resource monitor button is constantly 
  102. updated to let you know the state of your Windows system. To see more 
  103. detail or set resource snapshots to monitor the state of your system, 
  104. just click on the button.

  106. Be a Windows Task Manager.  ToolPAL offers a powerful Windows Task 
  107. Manager. The ToolPAL Task Manager is a graphical display that shows the 
  108. icon, window caption, window handle, and module handle for each active 
  109. Windows application. Using the Task Manager, you can lock (or release) 
  110. any window on top of your desktop. You can also move applications from 
  111. one virtual desktop to another.  In addition, you can display detailed 
  112. information about every active Windows application and DLL.  In 
  113. emergency situations, you can terminate and remove from memory any 
  114. Windows executable or DLL.

  116. Switch to another ToolPAL palette.  Besides using ToolPAL file folders, 
  117. you can also have a ToolPAL button switch to another ToolPAL palette.

  119. Load another ToolPAL palette file. This lets you chain ToolPAL files 
  120. together for building large ToolPAL applications.
  121.  
  122. Display another ToolPAL palette. Any ToolPAL button can hold another 
  123. ToolPAL palette, which is called a child palette. Any button in a child 
  124. palette can hold another child palette. There is no limit on the 
  125. hierarchy of ToolPAL palettes. Child palettes can also be set up as 
  126. cascading menus so they disappear after you click on the button.

  128. Switch to a Virtual Desktop.  ToolPAL includes nine virtual desktops. 
  129. You can easily switch to any desktop using a ToolPAL button or the 
  130. ToolPAL menu.

  132. Lock any window on top of all the other windows on the Windows desktop.

  134. Display system information. ToolPAL can display, print, or save to an 
  135. ASCII text file Windows system information, including MS-DOS version, 
  136. Windows version, Windows mode, temp file directory, Windows directory, 
  137. CPU type, available memory, User Memory, GDI memory, total conventional 
  138. memory, total extended memory, swap file size, and available hard disk 
  139. space for each local and network drive.

  141. Run Windows and DOS applications. When you click on a ToolPAL Run 
  142. button, a dialog is displayed that lets you type the name of the 
  143. application you want to run or browse through the files on your hard 
  144. disk to find an application to run. ToolPAL remembers all the 
  145. applications you have run previously, so you can easily restart an 
  146. application by choosing it from a drop-down list.
